The Sun Princess Alaska Cruise 2007

Itinerary for Cruise for Credit Program-Optional 3 continuing education credits through Colorado School of Mines.* July 22-30, 2007.

   
    Day One:
July 22nd:
Fly to Seattle, transfer and board the Sun Princess for an unforgettable tour of Alaska and the Yukon.

Day Two:
July 23rd:
Tour Seattle and visit the Museum of Flight, Woodland Park Zoo, the Seattle Aquarium, Pike Place Market-the Heart of the City, or the Seattle Center, grounds of the World's Fair and now a center for culture and art. There's always something going on! Board the Norwegian Pearl at 4:00 pm.

Day Three:
July 24th:
Cruise Alaska's Inside Passage-Discover mystical fjords and forests. Alaska is an unspoiled land where nature reigns. Temperate rain forests, chains of rugged islands amid snow-capped mountains reveal glacier-carved fjords. You will never know when a bald eagle will appear along with whales, dolphins and sea lions.

Day Four:
July 25th:
Juneau, Alaska is often described as America's most charming State Capital. Situated among mountains and ocean, it is approachable only by sea and air. Explore Mendenhall Glacier, a 12 mile river of ice or enjoy whale and wildlife viewing from a catamaran, or tour the Alaska State Museum featuring artifacts from Eskimo, Aleut, Athabaskan and Northwest Coast Indian Tribes.

Day Five:
July 26th:
Skagway-charming and immensely walkable-Skagway has been restored to its 19th century "gold rush" charm. Learn about the Klondike Gold Rush at the Klondike Gold National Park. Take the Skagway Street Car which encompasses the waterfront, historic district and scenic viewpoints. Listen to the stories and legends of the Klondike days of Skagway.

Day Six:
July 27th:
Cruise Glacier Bay. Thrill to the overwhelming majesty and power of Alaska's most dazzling glacial display. Marvel at Margerie Glacier, 40 stories high and over a mile wide. Hump-back whales, bald eagles, sea lions, porpoises and puffins provide amazing photo opportunities.

Day Seven:
July 28th:
Ketchikan, Alaska. Stroll down historic Creek Street to Dolly's House which will give you a glimpse into the bawdy ways of frontier life. Or venture outside town to see a forest of hand-carved totem poles. Alaska's first city is built out over the water and set amidst the country's largest national forest. Kayak the misty fjords or hike up Deer Mountain.

Day Eight:
July 29th:
Dock in Seattle and transfer to Comfort Inn, Seattle. Tour the City of Seattle: the Space Needle and the Market area.

Day Nine:
July 30th:
Fly back to Denver.


The Sun Princess Alaska Cruise Participation Fee begins at $1799 per person based on double occupancy and cabin choice subject to availability and includes:

  • Round-trip Airfare from Denver to Seattle (other departure cities will be priced accordingly)
  • Hotel Lodging at the Double Tree Hotel, Seattle
  • Cruise (standard cabin-double occupancy-upgrades available upon request)
